Readers Workshop Folder Get organized for BACK TO SCHOOL!
Keep your students organized during their independent reading time using these printables, designed to be hole-punched and fit into a 3-prong folder or stapled along the left margin.
Your students will record their finished books into 9 different genres:
Non-Fiction/Informational
Biography/Autobiography
Poetry
Historical Fiction
Fantasy
Realistic Fiction
Science Fiction
Traditional Literature
Mystery
Your students will record up to 5 titles, dates finished, and a 1-5 star rating for each genre. Once your students record 5 titles in one genre, give them a sticker on their Genre Page – can your students read 5 books from each genre… 45 books in one year? High expectations yield high results!!
In addition, each week students will have a new ‘Book Notes’ page to record their daily independent reading stats: Title, start/end time, and start/end page. This weekly ‘Book Notes’ page also provides space for students to set a weekly reading goal. ‘Book Notes’ are an effective conversation piece for reading conferences, and a great communication tool with parents to show them how their child is spending independent reading time!
