Activities:
Short A Picture Card Sort: Students will drag and drop cards with a picture and word into the correct vowel sound column.
Type It Up: Students will practice typing and spelling as they type 4 words 3x each.
Sentence Writing: When provided with a picture and word, students will type a complete sentence that includes the word.
ABC Order: Students will drag and drop 5 words into correct ABC Order.
X and O: Students will place an O over Short A words and an X over words that are not Short A.
Unscramble: A picture and scrambled letter tiles are shown. Students will drag and drop letter tiles to unscramble the words.
Which One: Students will determine which version of the word is spelled correctly in a sentence. They will drag and drop to highlight the correctly spelled word.
Fill in the Blank: Students will fill in the missing word from a sentence. Picture clue included.
Build a Word: Students will use letter tiles to build their own words with Short A sounds.
Build and Type: Given a picture clue, students will build the word with letter tiles and then type the word.
