5 Activities and Books for St. Patrick’s Day

Leprechauns, rainbows, 4-leaf clovers and pots of gold – kids are always sure to love the idea of magic that surrounds St. Patrick’s Day! It is the perfect reason to add engaging books for St. Patrick’s Day and fun themed games to your centers and small groups, while allowing students to celebrate and practice valuable skills.

Check out these two modifiable themed games below to add to your St. Patrick’s Day lesson plans so you’re prepared to add some extra fun to your classroom in March! And don’t forget to take a look at a few of my favorite books that are perfect for this holiday, too!

St. Patrick's Day Bingo

This St. Patrick’s Day themed Bingo game is a great way to get your students feeling lucky! With 35 unique playing cards and four pages of calling cards, this activity is perfect for your St. Patrick’s Day lesson plans that can be enjoyed by any age level. Also included is a create-your-own card so students can have some fun with creating and coloring their own version. And even better yet, this resource is available as a print-and-go or digital option so sharing it with your students is simple!

You can use this activity for small or large group game time, as an early finisher game, in a center or as an incentive. Add a little extra fun by letting students use clover stickers or lucky charms cereal as chips. This will definitely be a game your students will enjoy year after year!

St. Patrick's Day Math Center

This resource is a great way to have your students practice estimating and measuring skills while also having fun! With the St. Patrick’s day themed cards, they will practice measuring to the nearest inch, half-inch, quarter-inch, centimeter, or non-standard unit of measurement. The recording sheets will allow the students to estimate the measurements of each item and then measure the actual size.

Use this resource during your measurement unit or as a review activity. It’s a great add-on to your St. Patrick’s Day lesson plans to be used in centers or independently.
